Anahí González (EN) is a Mexican photographer based in London, Canada. She explores visual narratives about Mexican labour for/within Canada. She holds a Doctorate in Art and Visual Culture and an MFA in Visual Arts from Western University, with additional studies at the Universidad del Valle de México and Universidad Europea de Madrid. She is a member of The Creative Food Research Collaboratory and has held roles as Programming and Fundraising Chair at Forest City Gallery. She is also a Contributor Editor at Embassy Cultural House.
She has curated exhibitions “Steel Echoes” (2023) at The Jeffrey Rubinoff Park (Hornby Island, BC), “Migration Stories Whispered in Migration Stories Whispered in My Ear / Me Susurran Al Oído Historias de Migrantes” (2022) at McIntosh Gallery (London, ON), and co-curated “Symphony of Lights” (2021) at the ArtLab (London, ON). She was selected to be part of the AGO X RBC Emerging Artist Exchange program (2022) and was a grant holder of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte Grant (Jóvenes Creadores) in Mexico, Generation 2021-2022.
Her work has been included in exhibitions and screenings in countries such as Mexico, Canada, the USA, Norway, Spain, and France. Anahí González (ES) es una fotógrafa mexicana radicada en London, Canadá. Su trabajo explora narrativas visuales sobre el trabajo mexicano para y dentro de Canadá. Es doctora en Arte y Cultura Visual y tiene una Maestría en Artes Visuales por la Western University, con estudios adicionales en la Universidad del Valle de México y la Universidad Europea de Madrid. Es integrante del Creative Food Research Collaboratory y ha ocupado cargos como Coordinadora de Programación y Recaudación de Fondos en Forest City Gallery. También es editora colaboradora en Embassy Cultural House. Fue becaria del programa Jóvenes Creadores del (SACPC), generación 2021-2022.
